CannotParse (ValidationException): Amazon Creators API error

HTTP 400ValidationExceptionRequest validation (400)Documented by Amazon

What it means

The request body is not valid JSON.

Message returned by the API: Unable to parse the request payload. Please verify that the request body is valid JSON.

Typical causes

  • Trailing commas, single quotes or unescaped characters.
  • Body sent as form data instead of JSON.
  • Content-Type is not application/json.

How to fix it

  1. Validate the body with a JSON linter.
  2. Send Content-Type: application/json.
  3. Let your HTTP client serialize the body instead of building the string by hand.

Not sure which part fails? Run Test credentials in the Scratchpad. It checks the token, the API access and the partner tag separately.
